Jeff Bezos Pilot a Giant Mech in Real Life: Amazon’s founder got to live out our big match dream at his company’s MARS conference. If you’ve always dreamed of piloting a giant humanoid robot, there’s good news: Now you can, as long as you’re a billionaire.
At Amazon’s annual MARS conference, dedicated to all kinds of futuristic tech, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos got to experience piloting a large Mac himself inside Hankook Mirae Technology’s Method-2 robot. Bezos, inside the robot’s cockpit, controlled the robot’s arms Gundam-style during the stage.
Method-2 was designed by Hollywood concept artist Vitaly Bulgarov, who has designed similar robots for films such as Boston Dynamics and Transformers. Method-2 was developed by South Korea-based Hankook Mira Technology.
Method-2 was first revealed in December and is intended to be used for construction and manufacturing. Hankook Mirae says the robot will go into full production by the end of the year, at which point you can pick up one of your own giant machines for just a few million dollars.
