Manchester City hope to get up to £1m from teenage full-back CJ Egan-Riley move to Burnley. The 19-year-old is out of contract at the Etihad but the Premier League champions are still entitled to a significant development fee for him.
That could reach seven figures if he proves successful in East Lancashire – while City have also discussed selling the highly-rated youngster for 30 per cent of the fee.
Egan Reilly made four senior appearances for Pep Guardiola last season.
He made his Champions League debut in March when he starred in City’s round of 16 second leg clash with Sporting CP.
But now he is ready to take on a new challenge in the Championship with Burnley.
On his arrival at Turf Moor, he said: “I’m buzzing to be here; happy that the deal is done and I’m a Burnley player.
“I can’t wait to start pre-season and start the season.”
Meanwhile, fellow City youngster Harwood Bayless underwent a medical at Burnley on Friday and is also set to link up with Vincent’s company men.
Former Man City captain Kompany has been keen to sign Harwood Bellis since his arrival at Burnley.
The England Under-21 defender played under the new Burnley boss at Anderlecht last season.
However, he came home unsettled and moved to Stoke in January.
