A full-sized workbench is a wonderful thing. But if your shop is tight on space or you just need an extra surface to work on, this fold-down workbench can come in handy. When you’re done using it, lay it flat against the wall.
YouTube woodworker April Wilkerson designed this simple workbench made from 3/4-inch plywood, 2 x 4s, and a piano hinge. Pocket screws connect all the pieces and give them a smooth look, while two lag bolts secure the legs to the table and allow it to be opened.

When folded, the workbench sticks out just 6 inches from the wall, so this design can be used in small spaces. See Wilkerson’s website for a kit list and plans.
